Please let me introduce myself. Should you wish to read my resume, please visit Resume.
My name is Ken Frost MA FCA FIPFM, aged 45, I currently live in London.
I enjoy cooking, eating, socialising and current events.
I have been told that I can be quite "direct"; however, I have a good sense of humour.
Here is a "brief" potted history of my career path; which inevitably has affected my life path:
I was born in London.
I studied Economics and Accounting at Edinburgh University (1980-84) which was great fun, and a lovely city to study and live in. I even managed to gain an MA, despite the distractions!
I then joined KPMG London (1984-1989), and qualified as a chartered accountant; very hard work!
I joined Philips Electronics UK (1989) as an Internal Audit Manager; travelling to many parts of the UK and Ireland. I visited factories, sales organisations etc and met a very broad cross section of people.
In the early 90's my work took a more international flavour, and I spent time in such places as Simi Valley, Salt Lake City, Darmstadt, Best, Eindhoven and Seoul. I even visited the Demilitarised Zone, on the border between North and South Korea. All of which I enjoyed tremendously (can an internal auditor have fun?), and can attest to the fact that it was most definitely life enhancing.
In 1996 I moved to Stockholm (a wonderful city); to set up the Philips Nordic audit department. This gave me the opportunity to regularly travel at the company's expense (why pay for something yourself when you can get someone else to?) to; Norway, Finland, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. These were life enhancing experiences, which I will never forget. I also set up the world-wide Fraud Investigation Department for Philips NV. During my time in Sweden I met my partner (Eva).
We moved to London in 2000, and I joined De Beers as Head of Audit (can you see a pattern forming here?) to set up their new department. Yet more travel, at other people's expense, this time to Namibia, South Africa (I went down a diamond mine there), Russia and Switzerland.
I left De Beers in 2001, and decided to write a book and set up a website. I have always enjoyed cooking (I started testing my "skills" in the kitchen when I was seven); and decided to compile a selection of my favourite recipes (approx 120), coupled with a travelogue of the places that I have visited and experiences I have enjoyed (eg quaffing whisky with a colleague at 2:00AM under the stars in a game reserve near Windhoek; whilst the lions, and other assorted wildlife, roared and grunted in the background).
Phoenix's mission is to marry investors with investment opportunities in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK); in order to take advantage of the the economic reforms, which are taking place there, which have made foreign investment easier.
I am also a director of Hana Electronics JVC and Sinji JVC, which are based in Pyongyang DPRK. Hana manufactures and sells DVD and VCD players, it also manufactures and sells DVD's and VCD's. Sinji's main areas of operations are; retail (consumer electronics, household necessities etc), software and artificial flower manufacturing for export.
I am happy to discuss and explore any business opportunties/proposals (both national and international); which make use of my experience and skill sets.
The skill sets and experience I offer include:
Over 20 years international experience (Europe, USA, Asia and Africa) within Phoenix Commercial Ventures Ltd, De Beers, Philips and KPMG.
